Industry and Cultural Heritage
We can advise on the management of heritage, and can devise and implement projects. Our local area, Anglesey, has an especially rich heritage from pre-historic times to early industrial activity and one of the densest collections of ancient monuments in the UK. This has provided the opportunity to develop our skills in physical management of heritage sites and its interpretation. Heritage projects work especially well when combined with a well-conserved natural environment and improved access to the countryside, giving visitors an all-round experience of both natural and social history.

Our archaeologist can advise on all aspects of heritage, its protection and interpretation.

Our projects have ranged from the renovation of the last thatched 'long house' at Swtan on Anglesey to the purchase and restoration of Castell Aberlleiniog, a Norman 'Motte and Bailey' castle built in 1088. Swtan is now a successful folk museum; Castell Aberlleiniog is in the process of restoration with the aim of opening to the public in 2006. Mynydd Parys Copper Mine - dating from the Bronze Age and the Romans to the Industrial Revolution and modern times - is a major industrial heritage project of national importance, which we have helped develop over several years.
