Control of Non-Native Species
Non-native species can be a major problem in the conservation of native species and habitats. Our Anglesey Red Squirrel and Water Vole projects have involved long term monitoring and/or control of non-native species (grey squirrels and mink respectively). We also have experience in managing nonnative and invasive plant species, including Himalayan Balsam, Japanese knotweed, and invasive scrub.

MM Environmental can advise on the best methods for monitoring and controlling these species and can design and implement control programmes. These and other pest species rarely confine themselves to one location but spread themselves throughout the countryside. Effective control may mean the co-operation of many landowners. We can advise on the most effective means of approaching landowners and negotiate on your behalf.
